My favorite food
I have no doubt to answer when someone ask me for my favorite food. Meat, every kind of meat all what you want to give me. The meat I like more is beef meat. All life I have been a meat lover, I like to combine it with especial salads, buffalo or barbecue sausage. Second place is for pork meat, specially the chicharrones with corn tortilla, pico de gallo y chile jalapeño. Every roast beef is delicious.
My preferred restaurant to go to eat meat, very delicious meat is Fogo Brazil in Sabana Este; I really recommend that place to eat meat until you get tired. The bad thing with this is that is very expensive but it worth the price to save money during a time to go to that special place, the “meat paradise”. With the concerning to a special recipe I let you here my special one:
BBQ Beef Ribs
This is an easy way to prepare delicious,BBQ Beef Ribs on your grill. Remember that the secret to indirect grilling is to make sure that the food doesn't get any direct heat at all. You will need to rotate the ribs occasionally to evenly cook them.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 3 hours, 30 minutes
Total Time: 3 hours, 50 minutes
Yield: Serves 4
Ingredients:
4 to 5 pounds beef back ribs (about 10 ribs)
• 1/2 cup ketchup
• 1/2 cup honey
• 1 4 ounce can green chilies, diced
• 1 large onion, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon cayenne
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 teaspoon dry mustard
Preparation:
Trim excess fat from beef ribs. Combine salt, pepper and cayenne. Rub over the ribs. Preheat grill and prepare for indirect grilling with a drip pan. Place ribs on grill over drip pan and close the lid. Cook for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours over a medium low, indirect heat (try to keep the temperature under 265 degrees F.).
To prepare sauce combine onion, honey, ketchup, chili peppers, garlic and mustard in a sauce pan. Heat over a low temperature, stirring until even and warm. When the ribs are nearly finished begin brushing the sauce on them until you get a thick coating.

ABOUT DEBATES
Dear GOES Members:
I want to thank to the teacher and you, the organization of the debates. This activity was really interesting, definitely it was a way of speaking English a lot, and we could express our ideas in English and in front of an audience and a jury too. I guess this debate made us face the fear that a lot of students have to speak in English. Some of them feel shame or nervous. Many schools teach you grammar, speaking skills but they do not offer you to do this kind of exercise where you can make a review of your performance and gives you experience to face real situations in life, at job, at school and wherever we need it. For me, that was a great idea, debates are part of our entire life, and not all think the same with every topic, we have to learn to defend our point of view, our arguments, that make us investigate and study more.
Political debates for example, can make the difference to choose the best candidate because in a debate, the candidates show what they know, show what their position is and sometimes how smart they are.
Debates were nice, maybe we can improve them next time and would be nice if we can do it in the classroom made for this.

Homework assignments
Nowadays, homework assignments are in the middle of controversy. Some people think that homework is not useful and other think that homework continues being an excellent tool to improve student’s investigation skills.
I my case, I think homeworks does not have to disappear, for me and for my experience like a student, this kind of assignments can make us investigate more about a topic. There are many ways to investigate with homeworks, we can find information in magazines, books, newspaper and in internet. If the student makes consciously his homework and if he checks that all the information that has found is real, he is doing a great job and is doing the right procedure to increase his knowledge. In ULACIT, for example, there are courses with only 2 hours per week, some teachers, like technology ones, give their students homeworks with what they can go beyond they can see in class in two hours that, at the end, class lasts one and a half hour.
Homeworks have some disadvantages too; they are related with the technology and internet. Every time we can see more and more lazy students because internet, technology, video games and other kind of distractions that technology offers. By the other side, we have partners that do not supervise their children homeworks, most of time, they do not know if their kids go to high school or to the university. With internet is very easy to copy and paste information and really fast to finish a homework, the students do not check if the information is the right, they just beg their homework that way. At the end, they do not learn absolutely anything.
I suggest that homeworks have to continue, the focus of them must be the investigation, they must obligate the student to investigate new thing, about new topics and the teachers must check if the student really did it and proving that is not only a copy and paste job. By the other side, education authorities must start to talk about plagiarism in High Schools and must promote investigation in students and motivate them to do it with a special program.

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES
“THE BLIND MAN WHO CLIMBED EVEREST”
Weihenmayer's life story is one of the most amazing and motivating history that I have ever heard before. He became the first blind man to reach the summit of Mt. Everest on May 25, 2001. But that was only the final step in a lifetime's journey of hard work and perseverance. Weihenmayer was born in 1968 with retinoschesis, which gradually causes the retina to deteriorate, causing him to lose all vision by the age of 13.
HIS CHALLENGE:
When he became totally blind, at first, he was extremely frustrated because all he lost and his condition. Then, he received a newsletter advertising a camp for blind kids to go rock climbing. He thought that was a crazy idea and he believed he had to do it. Reaching the summit of his first climb, hearing the sound of space vibrations and feeling the rock underneath his hands, Weihenmayer knew he was living something special. That feeling at the top of that first summit comes back with every climb he does. And despite the difficulties and challenges each individual mountain brings, Weihenmayer knows it is worth it. Worth the constant fear of reaching out with no guarantees, but knowing it is impossible to turn back. Worth testing your abilities on a daily basis and coming to terms with the fact that you aren't as good as you thought you were.
OUTCOME
He could beat his fears, he created a foundation to help blind people and after climbing Everest, Weihenmayer's team led a group of six blind Tibetan teenagers on a month long expedition to a peak on the north side of Everest. According to him, the expedition was proof that "leadership is contagious and giving to people around us can do great things." Actually, he has a climbing academy, he is married and has a son, he is having a normal life, he can do whatever he wants. Weihenmayer already has plans for the upcoming year. In addition to planning additional challenging climbs and leading another climb with a group of blind teenagers, he is writing a book on using adversity to your advantage and planning a No Barriers festival, which will teach kids how to use new technology in their own lives.
LIFE LESSON
No doubt, this story is a motivating fact in my life, when I knew about it; I bought his movie and tried to read more about this amazing man.
We have to thank God for all what we have; we have to enjoy the life every day with every breath, with every beat of our hearts. We are unique and are capable to get what we propose us in our lives. If we are normal or if we are persons with a disability, we must fight for our dreams and goals like Eric did it and continue making new important things.
Finally, I want to repeat a very nice phrase from Eric:

I was very interested in going to this presentation, the topic catched my attention because I’m fan of technology and innovation.Most of the sellos verdes are so interesting and I try to go to as many as I can. In my opinion, these sellos verdes are an excelent chance to learn more and besides, free. I have heard some comments of my partners about the activity, with no doubt I know I lost a great opportunity to hear a good speech and actualize my knowledge.
